If you prepare the bird breast down, the turkey skin over the breast will certainly not brownish well. If you desire browning on the breast, you’ll require to turn the turkey over in the frying pan and to brown it in the last few minutes of cooking. We seldom bother with turning the turkey over, since we sculpt up the turkey in the cooking area before bringing it out, as well as there is a lot of crunchy turkey skin on the rest of the turkey.

  • 1 package Hillshire Farm® Turkey Smoked Sausage
  • 6 cups red new potatoes, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch-chunks
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Easy Dinner Recipes: Gourmet Sausage Gumbo Recipe

I was challenged to try a recipe with the new sausage by Hillshire Farm, Gourmet Creations Sausage, so we came up with a mix of our Jambalaya and Gumbo easy dinner recipes we love and came up with this great meal! If you want something filling, extremely tasty, and unlike anything you&rsquove probably had before, you have got to give this Sausage Gumbo Recipe a try!

Gourmet Sausage Gumbo

&ndash Cooked Chicken (We use a Chicken Fryer with meat pulled from off the Chicken)
&ndash Kosher Salt and Black Pepper
&ndash Vegetable Oil &ndash 1/4 cup
&ndash Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sausage
&ndash Butter &ndash 5 Tbls
&ndash Garlic &ndash 8 cloves, Minced
&ndash Celery &ndash 3 Stalks, Chopped
&ndash Onion &ndash Diced
&ndash Green Pepper &ndash Chopped
&ndash Worcestershire Sauce &ndash 1/4 cup
&ndash Parsley &ndash 1/4 of a bunch Chopped Coarsley
&ndash Beef Bullion Cubes &ndash 5 cubes
&ndash Crushed Red Pepper
&ndash 2 cups Cooked Rice
&ndash Top with Cheese, Pineapple, Green Onions & Sour Cream

Cook chicken breasts or a whole chicken with Kosher Salt and Pepper to taste in 1/4 cup of Vegetable Oil until browned. Remove chicken. Brown Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sausage, then remove from pan. Melt 5 Tbls of butter and sprinkle 1/4 cup of flour in. Add in minced garlic. Stir consistently so it doesn&rsquot burn until bubbly and starts to turn brown, about 10 minutes. Add in celery, onion, green pepper and Worcestershire Sauce. Stir and cook for 15 minutes. Add in parsley. Add in 4.5 cups of water and 5 beef bullion cubes. Add in crushed red pepper (adds spice, optional). Cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Dish cooked rice into bowl. Top the rice with your Gumbo and then add cheese, dollop of sour cream, green onions, and pineapple. Enjoy!

This recipe is absolutely delicious! We make it up almost like a Hawaiian Haystacks with the pineapple added on top but much more gourmet and premium. It absolutely tastes just like something you would eat at a restaurant and I always go back for seconds!

Hillshire Farm Crescent Roll Sandwiches – Sandwich Maker Recipe

If you’re looking for fun and easy school lunch ideas for those busy weeknights, check out my Crescent Roll Sandwiches made in a sandwich maker with the help of Hillshire Farm® Brand and Walmart! Sandwich maker recipes are SO easy and fun for school lunches!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc. All opinions are entirely my own.

You don’t have to be a wizard to rock school lunches for kids. We’re on a mission to make school lunches rock with our Operation Awesome School Lunch initiative, where we focus on ways to make back-to-school easier for parents and kids alike. With the help of brands like Tyson®, Hillshire Farm®, Jimmy Dean®, and State Fair® products purchased at Walmart, easy back to school lunches are within your grasp this year!

Brands like Tyson, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, and State Fair – all are in my fridge/freezer every week on any given day and all have been featured here previously. Why? Because they make parental life easier for busy work-at-home moms like me!

I’m going to let you in on a little back-to-school lunch-making secret of mine (that isn’t really a secret, because, y’know, PUBLIC POST ‘n all, ahem) – packing lunches doesn’t have to be hard, especially when you’ve got a handy-dandy sandwich maker like we do! You can instantly create hot sandwiches for your children! Plus, making sandwiches in the sandwich maker and refrigerating them in advance makes preparing school lunches SO much easier! Just grab and go!

Hillshire Farm Crescent Roll Sandwiches

These crescent roll sandwiches made in the sandwich maker are made with Hillshire Farm Lunchmeat. Fully cooked and ready to eat, this variety of lunchmeat has no artificial flavors and is always perfect for sandwiches, wraps, and more! Take a look at the delicious sandwich gorgeousness below!

Crescent Roll Sandwich Maker Recipe

To make this fun school lunch recipe for kids, you’ll need the Hillshire Farm lunch meat of your choice (we used Honey Ham, Pastrami, Oven Roasted Turkey, and Roast Beef), a couple cans of crescent roll dough, thick cut and sliced cheddar cheese, cooking spray, salt, pepper, and a sandwich maker.

On a large plate or platter, open only one refrigerated can at a time onto the sprayed plate/platter (so that the crescent roll dough doesn’t stick to the plate). It is key to keep the cans in the fridge until ready, it’s easier to work with! Separate each crescent triangle to get ready to cook.

Once the sandwich maker is heated and ready (as indicated by the green light on top), spray the inside generously.

Lay each crescent triangle into the sandwich maker in the direction of the triangles on the heating plate, trying to line up the corners (as shown). You’ll end up folding the crescent roll dough in half, essentially.

Break your cheese in half, lay each triangle on top of the dough.

Grabbing one slice of your preferred Hillshire Farm lunch meat, lay on top of the triangle of cheese.

Season the meat. Fold over remaining crescent roll dough on top of the meat and cheese as best as you can. It won’t be perfect, but it’s alright, because the dough will spread/rise as it’s cooking.

Close your sandwich maker and wait about a minute or so. (Do not wait until the light to turn green, you will end up overcooking/burning the dough.)

The crescent roll sandwich maker sandwich will be nice and golden brown when finished, like this, shaped into triangles.

Remove the sandwich maker sandwiches from the heat and onto a plate to cool nearby, separating the triangles from one another.

Continue with the above steps until all of your crescent roll dough has been used (each can of dough will make eight crescent roll sandwiches). Look at the beautifulness.

I tell ya, creating your school lunches in advance like this is so handy! Hillshire Farm lunchmeat all melted into ooey goey cheese, all ready to be devoured. These never last, and with good reason, because they are delicious!

Send the kids to school with a little container of their favorite dressing or condiment, too, because these are the perfect size and shape for dipping!

Pair these Hillshire Farm crescent roll sandwiches with your favorite sides for your child’s lunch, and be prepared for their friends to want to share!

Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet

This easy weeknight meal is one that your entire family will love!

Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet…a delicious dinner is ready in just 30 minutes!

We created this incredible Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet as part of a sponsored post for Hillshire Farm and Ahold USA. All opinions are 100% mine. #SausageSoSimple

Growing up in a big Polish family, kielbasa and other smoked sausages were a frequent (and favorite) part of many family meals! Kielbasa is ‘in my blood’ – and today – it takes just one bite and I’m happily reminded of my childhood dinners.

So I am incredibly excited to partner today with Hillshire Farm and Ahold USA to share this easy-to-prepare, delicious Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet recipe with all of you as part of their Smoked Sausage #SausageSoSimple program!

Hillshire Farm is our go-to brand anytime we buy smoked sausage and kielbasa. And all Ahold USA Supermarkets (including Stop & Shop, Giant and Martin’s grocery stores) carry all of the brands I trust in a friendly, convenient atmosphere. I shop there because I know I will find all of the ingredients I need to prepare quick meals that my family loves.

Our recipe today uses Hillshire Farm Beef Polska Kielbasa – but any of Hillshire Farm’s other delicious smoked sausage products would be great in this Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet. Simply sauté diced russet potatoes, onions, and green bell pepper in a skillet – then add in your favorite sliced Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage. Finally, pour a simple and cheesy sauce over the top – and dinner is ready!

Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage is pre-seasoned, so even if you haven’t cooked with smoked sausage before, it adds quick, foolproof flavor to any recipe.

This Cheesy Smoked Sausage Skillet is pure comfort food with fantastic flavor. And – even better – it only takes about 30 minutes to get a delicious and filling dinner on the table for your family!

Easy and quick Sausage and Rice Skillet Recipe perfect for weekday night meals.

During the week it can be hard to come up with a tasty meal that can be done easily. That is why I love fixing a sausage and rice meal. It is simple and easy to throw together and it uses one dish! Less time cooking and cleaning gives me more time to speed with my family of an evening. I like to pick up a HILLSHIRE FARM® BEEF POLSKA KIELBASA SAUSAGE at Target in the meat section. I also used Target’s CARTWHEEL to save 20% on the sausage I purchased! Then all I need is to grab up a couple other items to make this delicious sausage and rice skillet recipe.

You could use any of the Hillshire Farm® sausages to create this dish. They would all be great:

  • Beef Rope Sausage
  • Beef Polska Kielbasa Sausage
  • Smoked Turkey Rope Sausage
  • Meat Polska Sausage

The reason I chose the Hillshire Farm® Beef Polska Kielbasa Sausage is because I knew it had a great flavor and spice. It goes perfectly with rice.
